WHAT WE'RE ABOUT
At Free Spirits Yoga we are dedicated to helping others feed their soul and grow into ones higher potential, through the practice and study of yoga, pranayama, and meditational techniques. The meaning of yoga is simply union, the union with the mind, body, and soul. The asanas or better known as the physical practice of yoga helps the body, the meditation helps calm the mind, bringing better focus and increased awareness. The pranayama also referred to as breathing techniques develops the lung capacity and teaches one how to heal themselves through the breath. Our mission is to help guide as many individuals to the path of liberation and radiant health! We offer teacher trainings, meditation and deep relaxation classes, workshops, art gatherings, charity events, kirtans, and much more! The path is to "Self-Realization" and we hope to help prepare the student to find their personal dharma in life, to link the student to their future guru, or just aide in the process of purifying and healing the body and mind. CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Warm Flow
( All Levels 75-85° ) This is a great introduction to the Hot Yoga classes. Although the heat isn't as hot as 105 degrees, it is still beneficial in areas such as weight loss, detoxification, breathe control, and cardio. The added element of heat will help the muscles relax much faster, making it easier to dive deep into your practice. This practice will help bring mental clarity, proper alignment of asana, and breathe control. |
Hot Flow
( Open class 90-110° ) Taking hot yoga is a great way to deepen your practice and at the same time detox your body. Students will practice Surya Namaskar and be introduced to Shiva Namaskar Vinyasa to warm up the body, bring flexibility to all muscles and joints, and wake up the nervous system. Flow is a continuous movement form posture to posture. This class is high in energy and teaches the individual to move gracefully with their breath. In flow we hold the poses for no longer then 3 breaths. Flow is a moving meditation and designed to help the mind want to settle into silence by the end of the class. |
Meditation , Pranayama & Yoga Nidra
( All Levels ) 30 minutes of meditation, pranayama, and yoga philosophy. First 10 minutes focuses on yoga philosophy, with a different theme each week. Second 10 minutes focuses on a variety of breathing techniques used to enhance lung capacity and building psychic strength. Finally, closing with 10 minute meditation with seed (focusing on an object or contemplating on yoga philosophy reviewed in class). In Yoga Nidra Deep relaxation class that helps heal the body and rest the mind. Yoga Sleep for 1 hour and recharge your being. |
Restorative Yoga
( All Levels ) Restorative yoga is a practice that is all about slowing down and opening your body through passive stretching. During the long holds of restorative yoga, however, your muscles are allowed to relax deeply. It's a unique feeling because props, rather than your muscles, are used to support your body. |
Teen Yoga
( Ages 13-17 ) Every Friday night there is a safe and healthy place for teens to spend their night. Teen Night at Free Spirits Yoga creates a judgement free space for all teens to come and enjoy. Each session will have a theme tied to social issues among teens. Every night will have a mix of movement through yoga, group conversation and an activity through art/music. This night will be a space for teens to come and grow as an individual while connecting with peers. |
Master Class
( Invite Only 120 minutes ) This class is by invitation only! This is an advance practice for advance students and yoga instructors only. Including the teachings of yoga philosophy, pranayama, meditation, psychic techniques, deep yoga nidra, and asana with added depth. One must attain basic knowledge of the scriptures, pranayama, and meditational techniques in order to ensure full receptivity of teachings. |
Aerial
( All Levels ) ( LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE. MUST BOOK IN ADVANCE. ) Ready to get airborne? Aerial Yoga offers those new to aerial to get their feet off the ground and become familiar with the aerial silk. Our aerial classes are very beginner friendly and fun for everyone. This unique style of yoga, you’ll explore some familiar shapes and postures in new planes helping you bend a bit deeper and invert with ease. After a centering warm up, you’ll move through poses that will build upper body & core strength, You’ll cool down with some restorative stretches and perhaps one of the most blissful savasanas floating in the silk. |
Dharma Yoga Wheel Class
( All Levels ) Free Spirits Yoga is the home of the Dharma Yoga Wheel and is where the founders and creators of the original yoga wheel, Raquel Vamos and Dov Vargas teach. We have a unique class featuring the Dharma Yoga Wheel as well as always having them available to use in other classes as well. This prop helps people to open the upper back, shoulders and hip flexors. It is a great class for all athletes including runners, bikers, Jiu-jitsu practitioners, climbers and more! This prop makes it accessible for all to use. |
