We understand that your life may be busy and you may have other obligations. However, we ask that you make it a priority to have a consistent practice before this training starts. This means practicing at least 3 times a week. |

RECOMENDED READING
A book we recommend prior to the start of the program is called The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. Please read the entirety of the text and write an essay on how you felt about this read. It is highly recommended to finish this BEFORE the training, but it is REQUIRED to finish and turn in the essay to receive your certification. |

TEACHER ESSAY
Write a page on what kind of teacher you would like to be. This means lots of things so have fun with it. (If you are doing training for personal growth and not to teach, write a page about what you are looking to gain throughout the training.) |
5
|
JOURNAL
Write a page on what Yoga is to you. You may include what changes you feel when you take classes / what type of classes make you feel differently. |

|
LUNCH
Each day of our training please make sure that you pack a full lunch, snacks and drinks. We will give opportunities for you to recharge throughout the day. We recommend that you not fill this time on your phone but instead eat, change as needed and journal. |

INDIVIDUALITY
Do not be concerned about what poses you can or can not do and any limitations you have. We will work this all out together! The best teachers are not always the ones who can get into poses easily, but often the ones who have had to work at them and have learned to explain them properly for each individual student to find their way. |

SCHEDULE
Our training will be held in all 3 studios - Sayville, Miller Place & Patchogue. We will be in communication and let you know ahead of time which studio to attend. If you have any questions regarding or during the training please email [email protected]. Raquel will get back to you within a few days! |
Classes
Take 3-6 classes a week
We encourage you to take our classes prior to your training to get affiliated with the style that we offer. During the days of the training you do not have to pay for the classes being offered. The days that you are not attending the training, you are responsible for the membership at the studio. We give 20% off for anyone that has signed up for the training for 1 year.
Diet
A special diet is recommended but not mandated before and during your training. Be sure to hydrate leading up to training and start eating a cleaner and lighter. The recommendation is to not eat excess of processed foods, no alcohol or drugs prior to beginning of training and limit foods that cause increased inflammation in the system, including foods heavy in flour, sugar, and artificial flavors. We will dive into diet much deeper during the training.

Mental Preparation
We know that all of you are here for different reasons. Some of you are interested in yoga philosophy, others are looking to deepen their practice, or cannot wait to teach to a group. This training focuses on setting you up with a solid foundation and will equip you with all the tools you need to teach a class from beginning to end. This training will feel intense at times so it’s important you mentally prepare and have started the work prior to entering. We will fully support you throughout the training and will be there to guide you throughout this journey! Expect an email 1 week before your training. Feel free to contact the studio if you need any questions answered.

Manuals
Ground up cues for each pose are so important to a new yoga teacher. We have a supplement manual that you can purchase at the studio. This manual is not necessary but you can use it throughout your Yoga Journey at Free Spirits Yoga.
